Sri Lankan trade and food expo from Feb 12

The first Sri Lankan Trade Exhibition and Food Festival will be held from February 12-14 at the Al Falaj Hotel, Muscat, under the auspices of the Sri Lankan embassy. The exhibition is being organised by Al Nimr Expo and Business Process Outsourcing Services (BPOS) will be the event manager. The exhibition will coincide with the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Sri Lanka's diplomatic relations with Oman. “This is the first time that Sri Lankan entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services in Oman. This will be an excellent opportunity for both countries to promote and expand bilateral trade relations further. I am positive that this exhibition will further strengthen the relationship and increase bilateral trade between the sultanate and Sri Lanka,” said H E Asoka Girihagama, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Oman. Over 30 Sri Lankan business firms and companies will exhibit products from a variety of sectors ranging from apparel, processed foods, tea, travel and tourism, floriculture, organic products, gem and jewellery, fruits and vegetables, hotel supplies, handloom products and human resources, among others. The exhibition will feature an array of products with the unique Sri Lankan flavour giving Omani business houses, decision makers, clients, customers, investors and visitors to the exhibition the opportunity to experience Sri Lankan entrepreneurship. “We are delighted to be part of Sri Lanka’s international business development, being the event manager for this exhibition. We believe that the exhibition will provide entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka an opportunity to showcase their products and services,” said Anselm Perera, CEO of BPOS.
