MoU on employment, training signed

MUSCAT — The Ministry of Manpower yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on employment and training with
the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and
Welfare to promote and reinforce cooperation between the two countries.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, signed the MoU on behalf of the Omani side, while Dylan Pereira, Minister of the Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare, signed it from the Sri Lankan side.
The MoU provides for encouraging cooperation between the two sides in the areas of employment and training through exchange programmes, studies and information on employment and special training programmes.

The MoU also provides for exchanging visits between officials and experts to identify the potentials of the two countries in the training and exchanging information, experience, research and studies related to the development of technical education, vocational training and vocational guidance.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Minister and his delegation toured departments in the Ministry. He also visited the Higher College of Technology where he was briefed on the objectives, programmes, and various departments of the college.
